Vigilante Southland (2016)

"Donny was feeling pretty settled in his cushy life. Even though his girlfriend was politically active, he never gave social justice or racial issues any time. So, when Dorrie discovers something she shouldn't have and ends up dead, no one expects Donny to be the guy to carry on her work-but that's exactly what he does, putting on a mask and taking to the streets. He soon finds himself tangled in family history, political conspiracy, and a plot that goes far deeper than he ever imagined. Set in the heart of Los Angeles, this new VIGILANTE series raises an old question while making it relevant to our times: when you witness bad things being done, how far would you go to set them right? Written by Gary Phillips, noted writer of the Ivan Monk series of novels, and drawn by Elena Casagrande (Suicide Risk), this hard-hitting tale of revenge and redemption takes the Vigilante into a whole new danger zone. "

"Donny has lost everything-his girlfriend, his home, and nearly his life-but the men who did this to him have also woken him up. To put it all back together, Donny will need to tear apart the conspiracy that rocked his world. And for that, he'll need help. Namely, the retired Los Angeles vigilante known as the Eastsider is going to teach Donny a thing or two about putting on a mask and kicking some butt."

"Donny has landed in hot water. Both literally and figuratively. The trail of his girlfriend's killer has led him into a dangerous conspiracy, and the cops now think he's a murderer himself. The only way out is to take a jump in the Pacific Ocean, but the mysterious assassin Spectros is going to make sure that the Southland Vigilante never comes up for air."

"The Southland Vigilante is starting to make his presence felt in Los Angeles, though he's also starting to feel the pain of battle. After his first encounter with Spectros, he barely escaped with his life. Now it's time to dig deeper, heading into the dark underbelly of the city, from illegal cockfights to the corporate boardrooms of some of the most elite crooks on the scene. RATED T+"

"It seems like everyone wants a piece of Donny. The cops are after him, he's run afoul of some brutal thugs, and Spectros, the assassin who killed his girlfriend and put Donny on the path of vigilantism to begin with, has taken a few shots at the masked hero himself. If that wasn't enough, the bad guys are also going after Donny's father, the one who taught his son a thing or two about surviving in the streets. As Vigilante gets closer to the truth, the trail of blood is only going to grow. RATED T+"

"The Vigilante has put together all the pieces and figured out all the players... he knows why his girlfriend was murdered and who was really behind the whole thing. Woe be to you if you're on the wrong end of Vigilante's fists, as he shuts down the bad guys with a righteous vengeance. Justice requires big action and big explosions in the closing chapter of this all-new take on a classic character!"
