Three Thieves TP (2025)

As an acrobat in a traveling circus, 14-year-old orphan Dessa Redd flies through the air with ease. Still, she is weighed down by troubling memories. But when her ragtag circus troupe pulls into the city of Kingsbridge, Dessa feels a tickle of hope. Maybe here in the royal city she will finally find her twin brother --- or the mysterious man who snatched him away when they were just children. Meanwhile, Topper, the circus juggler, recruits Dessa and the circus strongman, Fisk, for the job of robbing the royal treasury. Hungry and desperate, both agree, setting off a series of adventures that will take the three thieves from one end of the world to the other in search of Dessa's long-lost brother.

A mind-boggling mix of friendship, betrayal and escape – all in one dark and stormy night. Dessa, Topper, and Fisk continue their search for Greyfalcon in hopes that he will lead them to Dessa's brother. But a terrible storm drives the three thieves off the road. Drenched, they take shelter at the Black Rock Inn--only to come face-to-face with their pursuer, Captain Drake. The long night fills with near captures and narrow escapes. And Dessa's fate becomes tangled with those of the grasping innkeeper and his scarred, silent wife. Is it possible that they hold a clue in Dessa's quest to find her long-lost twin?

FOR ONCE, THE THREE THIEVES ARE HAILED AS HEROES... BUT HOW LONG WILL THEIR GOOD LUCK LAST? As our heroes trek further west in search of Greyfalcon, they stumble on a kidnapping in progress. Dessa daringly rescues the victim– who turns out to be the crown prince of Medoria! Still on the run from the Queen’s Dragons, the trio being openly celebrated by a neighboring kingdom seems like a bad idea. Yet it also holds a rare opportunity. The prince – who grows more and more devoted to Dessa – promises his help on her quest. But he and his father, the King, may not see eye-to-eye.

The island of Astaroth–“The Dark Island”–is a legend among sailors. It’s rumored a demon lives there, and that it holds more riches than anyone could fathom. But no one has ever laid eyes on it. Certain that her long-lost brother is being held on the Dark Island against his will, Dessa hires a ragtag group of smugglers to take her there aboard their ship. But it’s a journey fraught with danger and treachery, and the outcome seems less and less certain with each passing moment… “One of the best family reading experiences Jim and Clementine and I ever had was the Three Thieves graphic novel series.” Laini Taylor Author of the Daughter of Smoke and Bone series

Against all odds, Dessa, Topper, and Fisk arrive on the legendary island of Astaroth, and Dessa sets about finding her long-lost twin brother, Jared. Instead, she discovers a bizarre world beyond anything she could have ever imagined, where three children roam under the watchful eye of a mysterious and rarely seen man they call the Toymaker. Who are these kids, and how did they get here? And, if Jared isn’t on the Dark Island, where is he?
