New Story Arc. The Eisner-Nominated series returns! Confronted with an enemy intent on exposing their secrets to the world, the Department of Truth makes a shocking choice-go public first. But to understand Lee Harvey Oswald's risky gambit, we have to return to where it all started: Dallas, 1963, as President John F. Kennedy's motorcade passed the grassy knoll... Multiple Eisner-winning writer James Tynion IV and acclaimed artist Martin Simmonds bring their celebrated series back from hiatus with the bang heard around the world!

Before Lee Harvey Oswald took his fateful place in the window of the Texas Book Depository, he spent time behind the Iron Curtain. This is fact. But he wasn't just a sympathizer-he was on a secret mission to infiltrate the Soviet Ministry of Lies. This is Truth.

Since the very first page of Department of Truth, questions have swirled around Lee Harvey Oswald, the director of the DoT-his motivations, his allegiances, and his true identity. Now, in our landmark 25th issue, prepare for answers that will change everything. Starting with... what really happened in Dallas? James Tynion IV (W0RLDTR33, Nice House on the Lake) and Martin Simmonds (Universal Monsters: Dracula) set their sights on a 25th-issue blowout for the multiple Eisner Award-nominated series!

Huck was the first hunter the Department of Truth ever recruited, tasked with tracking and killing the strange creatures known as Wild Fictions. But in 1962, amongst the sun-baked backlots of Hollywood, Huck came face to face with the strangest creature of them all-Marilyn Monroe. Acclaimed artist Alison Sampson returns for a uniquely American tragedy.

"Happy birthday, Mr. President..." Norma Jeane Mortenson wanted to be famous. What she got was so much more than that. Now she doesn't know where the real Marilyn Monroe ends and the fiction enshrined in the modern American pantheon begins. And that's very, very dangerous-especially when she's face to face with the Department of Truth's very first Wild Fiction hunter.

New Story Arc. For the first time since the Department of Truth was founded, its highest official just revealed the whole, sordid history to a journalist-a journalist who happens to be Cole's husband. Can their relationship survive the cold, hard facts? And will it all be for nothing once Black Hat mounts their counter-offensive to the DoT's riskiest gamble yet?

Matty’s employees in the Washington Post newsroom have heard—and dismissed—more than their share of outlandish conspiracy theories. But what happens when a conspiracy linking every shadowy event in American history is laid out on their doorstep…with proof? And what does Black Hat have to do with it?

Fact: Martin Barker is the most dangerous man in America. Fact: Martin Barker is always two steps ahead of his opponents. Fact: As the Department of Truth makes a desperate play to preserve its existence, Martin Barker is about to change the face of the country forever.

'Beward the Hat Man.' High school outcast Frank is addicted to finding the darkest corners of the internet. But now those dark corners are reaching through the screen with very long fingers and very sharp teeth. Learn the origin of the Department's haunted hacker in a two-part Deviation with guest art by Letizia Cadonici (House of Slaughter)!

A missing girl. A monster that can’t exist. Government agents dressed all in black. Linking them all is Frank, a teenage hacker racing against the clock to solve this impossible puzzle before her world shatters around her. END OF STORY ARC Frank is desperate to find the Hat Man in the hopes of saving her friend. But the more people who believe in the Hat Man…the more real he becomes.
