SWORD DAUGHTER (2018)

"The Forty Swords came at night and murdered the entire village, save for two people: the infant Elsbeth and her grief-stricken father, Dag. Setting off on a revenge quest that will span the width of Viking Age Europe, they find the key to repairing their damaged relationship lies in the swords they carry. Created by Brian Wood (Northlanders, The Massive, DMZ) and Mack Chater (Briggs Land, Lazarus), Sword Daughter is a visually stunning, emotionally poignant story of parental guilt and acceptance of loss."

"Revenge is violent and heartbreaking, but for Dag and his semi-feral daughter, the clash of swords is a chance to heal old wounds. First stop is the Shetlands and a serial killer who must be put down."

"For ten years Dag slept, hiding from the horror that ripped his family apart. At the rocky outpost of Raven's Fate, he comes face to face with the first of the Forty Swords, and the extent of his failure as a father."

"On the run from the Forty Swords, Dag and Elsbeth fall back to the wilds of Northern Europe and shelter with a secretive group of mountain warriors. Elsbeth learns the history of the sword she carries, and we get a glimpse at the woman she's destined to become."

"As spring nears and the snow thaws, violence once again threatens Dag and Elsbeth, and a desperate choice is made. In Viking Russia, another crisis is unfolding."

"The Forty Swords catch up to Dag and Elsbeth, and a battle is fought on two fronts: the father fights for his daughter's future, and an old man's freedom is paid for in blood."

"Elsbeth Dagsdottir has not forgotten the oath her father made to her on that remote Icelandic beach: to deliver revenge upon the Forty Swords clan that burned their village and murdered her mother. It might take them a lifetime of strife, but it is a promise they are willing to die to keep."

"Elsbeth faces a war on two fronts: against the tormentors of her past, and the last living Forty Swordsman. An elderly Dag urges her to give up the sword and choose peace. Northern England hosts an uprising that may force her hand."

"Having known nothing but hardship and violence, there would seem to be little in this world that Elsbeth cannot handle. These final days of the revenge quest might prove to be the exception. When all is said and done, who lives, and who dies?"
