FOOL NIGHT GN (2025)

Kamiya is at the end of his rope. His mother is ill, and his job barely pays for her medication, much less food. With few options left, he considers the life-changing process of floromorphosis. Ready to give his body up for a payday, Kamiya is about to explore the limits of society's waning humanity.

Struggling in poverty and slowly transforming, Kamiya must figure out how to spend the two brief years of humanity he has left after undergoing the transfloration procedure. The vine growing from his stomach has made him question his relationship with his mother and his employment at Transflora Medical. Meanwhile, Kamiya's childhood friend Hourai assists in the investigation of a string of murders committed by a spiriflor.

Kamiya is trying to make the most of the time he has left before completing his spiriflor transformation. But when he's attacked by a mysterious spiriflor that somehow remains capable of humanlike movement and functioning, his childhood friend Hourai becomes one of the creature's victims.

In a distant future where the sun no longer shines, Toshiro Kamiya gives up his body to a sinister floral metamorphosis for a payday. The earth of the distant future is covered in thick clouds, and the sun no longer shines. Plants wither, and oxygen is thin. To fight extinction, humankind has developed a technology that turns humans into plants, providing a small amount of oxygen. Is this process sustainable? Is it ethical? Toshiro Kamiya must consider these questions as he's faced with a difficult choice-save his family or save himself. As Hourai recovers from Ivy's brutal attack, Toshiro investigates the vicious spiriflor's origins. He's led to a place called Paupertown. What will he find in the town's dark and miserable depths?

The mobile spiriflor Ivy's very existence spawns a fierce debate about the merits and dangers of transfloration, splitting the world in two. Having devoted their lives to Transflora Medical, Kamiya and Hourai strive to expose the ulterior motive behind the antitransfloration protests, even as they question whether they are on the right side of the issue.

Does the world really need the inhumane system of transfloration that spawned Ivy? Those who harbor doubts have begun attacking Transflora Medical, where Toshiro now works. Meanwhile, his friend and coworker Hourai is laying her latest trap for the antitransfloration movement. A fierce battle for the future of transfloration has begun-who will emerge victorious?
