To kill Akari, Menou scours the outer reaches of the West in search of a legendary blade that turns all it touches into salt. There, she stumbles across Sahara, a monk, who has history with the young Executioner and begs her to take her life for reasons unknown. Meanwhile, the one of the Four Great Calamities begins to unfold in the undeveloped regions of the East and slowly inches toward them, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake...

Akari and Momo have vanished behind Menou Ä s back. Dumbfounded by her aide Ä s betrayal, Menou begins her trek to hunt them down, though the missing pair seem to be remarkably good at slipping past her fingers. The fight between Menou and Master Flare in the land of salt begins to tip in the student's favor. Connecting to Akari's vast guiding force has enabled Menou to access the pseudo-concept of Time, a development that spells the conclusion to a battle that has ended in defeat countless times before. Yet during the fight, Ivory slips in and out of view. Elsewhere, Pandemonium enters the Star Memory. Something Manon left behind unknowingly has brought about a fatal change, and a catastrophe arrives at the furthest reaches of the world.

Half a year has passed since Menou's battle with Master Flare. Still on the run from the Faust, she searches for a way to restore Akari, her dearest friend. Her hunt leads her to the Starhusk, one of the Four Major Human Errors. A once in a decade event called "the Hatching" seems to be the key.  But to have any chance of reaching the Starhusk, Menou must contend with the Inquisitor Ivory dispatched to stop her-Michele.

Menou and her group press deeper into the City of Ruins to reach the Astrologer who controls the Starhusk, the key to defeating Hakua. Instead, they find a Lost One who should've died a thousand years ago. During the confusion, Genom attacks. Will Menou be able to overcome a foe even Master Flare couldn't put down?

Menou and her group finally acquire the Starhusk, their best chance to defeat Hakua, but at the same time, they lose their means of escape. With Michele on the way, will they have enough time to properly activate the Starhusk? In the deepest reaches of the last Human Error, Menou must make a desperate choice...
