Akarat, the ancient legend whose teachings spawned the Zakarum faith, has risen from death. He claims he has returned to spread peace, love, and the Light. His powers healed the leader of the Fox Tribe, and now the barbarians are amongst his most loyal followers. All but Derris. Though his people have sworn themselves to Akarat and the Light, Derris knows that the cycle of violence consumes Sanctuary sooner or later—an opinion shared by the mysterious Vrexia, another skeptic swept up in Akarat’s caravan. But when assassins come to slaughter Akakrat, Derris must either save the holy man…or watch his tribe be cut down.

With Stormbringer and Elric at odds in the middle of battle, the tides of war hinge on Elric’s ability to retain his sanity as he gives further in to the power of chaos. However, the sorcerer Theleb K’aarna plots to usurp Elric as the champion of chaos and steal the power of the mighty Arioch for himself. Will Elric be triumphant or will an army of chaos rain down upon the realm?

Cast out of by Akarat and abandoned by his tribe, Derris wanders the wasteland. He has no weapons, no armor, and his only companion is Vrexia. Despite their conflict, the pair must find a way to work. together if they are going to survive the hordes of Fallen who stalk their every step.

Derris has carved a long and bloody path in his journey back to the Light. But as he and Vrexia get ever-closer to Akarat, they’ll discover that the brighter the light, the darker the shadows left in its wake. However, have his teachings been misunderstood, or was this Akarat’s plan all along?
