Autumnal (2020)

"Following the death of her estranged mother, Kat Somerville and her daughter, Sybil, flee a difficult life in Chicago for the quaint--and possibly pernicious--town of Comfort Notch, New Hampshire. From NY Times best-selling author, Daniel Kraus (The Shape of Water, Trollhunters, The Living Dead), and rising star Chris Shehan, comes a haunting vision of America's prettiest autumn."

"After missing the funeral of her estranged mother, Kat and her daughter, Sybil, hope to fit into the quaint town of Comfort Notch. But the town's obscure history and strange customs make it a struggle, leading to a shocking confrontation."

"A drunken bender lands Kat in front of a wise and handsome tattoo removal specialist, yet she's drawn back to eerie Comfort Notch, where a trove of old photos reveal the figure behind the town's ominous legends."

After Kat learns of an old tragedy that brought Comfort Notch to its knees, the bitter, burn-scarred Carol Ravintzky finally tells the tale of the terrible death of Clementine Biddle.

The sudden vanishing of a Comfort Notch citizen compels Kat to follow a hidden-in-plain-sight clue... before the worst omen of all manifests from the leaves.

After stealing a trove of local lore, Kat begins barricading her house against the Comfort Notch threat. But nature itself seems hell-bent on tearing her family apart.

The Autumnal Society has found its sapling. As Kat and Sybil are led into the town's darkest, hungriest belly, gruesome truths are revealed that upend everything we knew about Comfort Notch.

With Sybil's fate uncertain, Kat at last faces off with Clementine Biddle -- who is not what we expect. Grief and rage power this horrifying finale.
