THE HISTORY OF SCIENCE FICTION TP VOL 01 (MR) (C: 0-1-2)

Description

"A graphic novel with illustrated text that traces, in detail, the history of a literary genre, from the 1800s to present day. [I feel we need something more catchy but perhaps it can wait for the designed section] For the first time in illustrated form, this comprehensive history of science fiction traces its origins and, in fascinating detail, charts its history from its beginnings as a 'schlock' genre to its respected status today. Who was the first author to write a science fiction story? How did American science fiction begin? What SF novel is the world's best-seller? What were the 'pulps,' and how did they predict with uncanny accuracy the 21st Century world around us? [maybe add something related to comics and movies?]These are just some of the questions answered in chapters dedicated to the founding mothers and fathers of the genre and the creations to which they gave birth. More than just a simple history lesson, THE HISTORY OF SCIENCE FICTION is a thoughtful and analytical reflection on the genre itself."
